About the Author

Jam’all Mokolo was raised in the Christian church, and has over 30 years experience in the music ministry—and tithing. His goal is to hopefully help to break those mental chains that keep some in the bondage of tithing, thereby releasing them into spiritual and practical freedom of giving. Giving that’s not attached to any form of fear, guilt, shame, obligation, expectation, or tradition. That kind of giving is “guilt-free” simply because free-will giving has no compensation attached to it. Tithing is about giving, not receiving.

About the Book

Title: How Tithing Killed My Mom: A Guide to Guilt-Free Giving

Description: How Tithing Killed My Mom delves into the life journey of Jam’all Mokolo, from childhood to adulthood, where he witnessed his single mother of four faithfully practicing the biblical tithing law, giving 10% and more of all her income – from welfare checks to child support to injury settlements. Sadly, she passed away before seeing the promised blessings materialize. Influenced by various tele-evangelists, guest speakers, and pastors, she, like many others in need, fell into the trap of seeking a spiritual high through false hopes. In his book, Jam’all sheds light on the concept of “Death by Tithing,” exposing how pastors historically manipulate and deceive their congregations. By illustrating scriptural evidence, the book argues that the practice of old testament tithing is outdated and emphasizes the importance of helping financially challenged individuals while encouraging those who can to give generously. It challenges the guilt-inducing mindset of old testament tithing, aiming to liberate individuals into a guilt-free giving approach rooted in the New Testament.
